2006-2007

For the sixth year, we are excited to invite all of the children from grades 3-5 at the Brown School to participate in the Reading Counts Program!!

Each child's name is listed on the computers in our media center allowing them to become active participants in the program. They just choose any book from the list of quizzes available and answer questions about the book they've read.  They are also given the opportunity to rate the book, receive and accumulate points for answering questions correctly, and earn prizes!

Please encourage your child to enjoy reading the many wonderful books provided in our school library. You may also select books from home or the town library and read a book with or to your child and then allow them to take the quiz at school.

The Brown School Reading Counts quizzes are now online in a searchable database (last updated 5/16/06)!
Simply click here to get to our new search page.

To download a complete list (PDF file) of all Reading Counts quizzes to date (last updated 4/3/06), please click below (please be patient..these are very large files):
- sorted by Title - click here
- sorted by Author - click here
- sorted by Reading Level - click here
- sorted by Points - click here

The books in the library are organized by subject which will assist in locating several choices of books that your child will be able to read and enjoy independently. Reading Counts books are easily found by their grade level stickers.

Readers are leaders and at E. S. Brown School -- Reading Counts!!

2005-2006 Program Coordinator: Chris Cestodio
